GS1 type description
GS1 Germany published the pallet quality classes back in 2014 – developed on a neutral platform by manufacturing, retail and service providers. The WORLD euro pallet is a design of the type described there.

Taking logistical and functional aspects into account, the type description defines quality criteria for four-way flat wooden pallets and sets out requirements for the production process and for internal and external monitoring.
The purpose of typing is to increase the efficiency of the logistics chain in the industries involved through a uniform pallet system that can be handled both mechanically and manually. The type description is free for anyone to apply and can be requested from GS1 Germany at mehrweg@gs1-germany.de.
WORLD submitted the corresponding declarations of conformity during the process, demonstrating that the WORLD euro pallet is a design of the type described. The design number for the WORLD euro pallet is 4059214999934.
The typing builds on the ECR application recommendation “New approaches to cooperative (euro) pallet management in Germany” from 2014. Participants in the various project groups included Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke, Dachser and Kraftverkehr Nagel. The well-known GS1 pallet poster also came out of this recommendation.
